We’re teaming up with RÜFÜS DU SOL for 2019’s triple j Unearthed remix competition!
The Sydney dance trio have generously handed over the stems to their single ‘New Sky’, taken from the group’s critically acclaimed album Solace, and they’re waiting for you to get cracking.
So, if you’re an Australian producer, beatmaker, rapper, band or vocalist, we want you hear what you’ve got. Remix RÜFÜS DU SOL’s song and make it your own! triple j Unearthed Music Director, Dave Ruby Howe, says “Hot tip: the best remixes we hear are the ones that take an original track and completely own it. They flip it into something we weren’t expecting, and something that’s unique to them as an artist.”
The winner will be flown to RÜFÜS DU SOL’s headline show at Hobart’s Regatta Grounds (TAS) and be given the chance to perform alongside the band, as well as supporting acts Willaris. K and Lastlings.
Want some inspo? Check out last year’s winner Borderland State who remixed ‘The End’ by DMA’S or Sweet Potato who came out of nowhere with this remix of Lorde’s mega hit ‘Homemade Dynamite’ in 2017.

triple j Unearthed – discovering new Australian music
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
