Fresh from picking up this year’s ARIA AWARD FOR BEST COVER for her album Batflowers,WASHINGTON shares today her new lyric video for the title song.
The bright animated lyric video has countless fonts and sketches all hand-drawn by Meg and as she explains, took her close to a year to make.
“This video took me eleven months in to animate. I started in January and finished it in November, 2020. It’s basically a timeline of the year, as the months went by, the animations got weirder and weirder until somewhere around July my eyeballs exploded and I can’t remember much of what happened after that. ‘Batflowers’ is a 3’05 song, and at 12 individual drawings per second, that works out at around 2,165 individual frames. I can see why it’s such an unpopular animation style. This video was a true labor of love and it feels very fitting to send off this incredible monster of a year with a loving kiss. Keep going!’
The title song was written with friend Rabitt in LA and then polished by Mario Spate in Adelaide. It is a pairing of palm-muted guitar with three-part harmonies that swim across verses before opening up into a pulsing ‘80s rhythm. Batflowers is a song that reminds us that when the current situation feels dire and impossible that it will pass if you just keep going.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
