A viral campaign started by a 14yr old Weezer fan has convinced Rivers Cuomo and co to cover Toto’s iconic track Africa, creating a slice of modern pop-rock perfection!

The fan known as Mary began by setting up a twitter account called @weezerafrica and then proceeded to tweet constantly about her desire to hear Weezer cover the classic 80’s anthem. Those tweets were heard around the world, and today Mary’s (and our) dreams have come true, with Weezer releasing the track on the band’s official Youtube channel.

Along with the cover of Africa, Weezer have also reworked Toto’s Rosanna, which can be streamed here.
