Steel released another infectious pop track on the 22nd of November 2019. Bringing her witty lyrics, catchy melody and irresistible bassline – ”Let’s talk about it” is the perfect segue into the summer festival season, and a taste of what Libby Steel has to come.

Her release is the icing on what has been a great year. From winning the Triple J Unearthed Queenscliff Music Festival spot, to playing on this years Best New Artists Stage at St Kilda.

Steel’s new single “Let’s talk about it” was inspired by her involvement with youth mental health program “Sing it out”. Wanting to put a positive spin on talking about issues, she wrote about a relationship where neither people are happy, but too insecure to talk about it – a feeling many of us can relate to. Steel shares “I hope the fun, upbeat vibe of “let’s talk about it’ will take away some of the negative stigma towards opening up and talking about our wellbeing and mental health”.

She has been praised for her “colourful, ashamedly bold pop music” (Dom Alessio) which has allowed her to have traction on Triple J and Unearthed. Her past singles Bones, People & Fever received stellar reviews and coverage, claiming she is “part Lilly Allen and part Saskwatch. It’s a winning combo” (Triple J Unearthed).

Steel and her band will be bringing her dynamic set across the country for the festival season and a collection of headline shows. Her first stop is Falls Festival Lorne – make sure you don’t miss her and her new single “Let’s talk about it”.
