The next generation of country music stars has been revealed, with the announcement of finalists for the 2025 Mothertone Gympie Music Muster Talent Search — a competition that continues to showcase emerging Australian talent.
Twelve Open finalists and six Junior performers will take to the stage at this year’s Gympie Music Muster (August 28–31), competing for a career-changing prize including a trip to Nashville, paid performances at the 2026 Muster, mentoring from Mothertone, and more.
Talent Search Coordinator Michael Turner from Mothertone said the standard continued to rise each year — and the depth of talent was increasing.
“We’ve had a lot of people come through this competition who’ve gone on to do really well,” Michael said.
“People now know this isn’t just your little country town talent search; to be in it, you’ve got to be at a higher standard — and this year’s lineup proves that.
“The vast majority this year are new faces, which tells us just how much great talent is coming through across Australia.”

Finalists will perform in front of large crowds and industry leaders, with the event becoming a true highlight of the Muster.
“Last year was exceptional,” Michael added.
“The event had more traction than ever before, and each year we bring the previous year’s winners back to perform again so people can see what they’ve achieved in just 12 months. That’s valuable not just for the artists, but for the crowd too — they can see the real-world impact this platform can have.”
The semi-finals will run from Thursday, August 28, to Saturday, August 30, from 11am – 1pm each day. The Grand Final will be held on Sunday, August 31, with the overall winners also performing that afternoon on the Hill Stage.
Gympie Music Muster Program Director Bec Anderson said the festival remained committed to discovering and nurturing rising talent.
“We are really impressed with the standard that has come through the Mothertone Muster Talent Search again this year,” Bec said.
“This competition continues to be a significant launching pad for up-and-coming artists. They’re getting the opportunity to perform in front of thousands and connect with some of the best in the industry while being fully immersed in a festival environment — and that’s an experience that is hard to find anywhere else.
“We believe supporting emerging artists is imperative, and we’re proud to keep providing this platform so the future of the Australian music industry remains as bright as it can be.”

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
