Following on from the release of their new single Hooked, pop five-piece Why Don’t We are headed to Australia for the very first time, performing two special shows in Melbourne and Sydney this August. After countless sold out shows in the US and UK, it’s time for Why Don’t We to bring the hysteria to Aus.

New single Hooked, shot to #3 on the US iTunes’ Overall Songs charts and #28 here in Australia. With YouTube views exceeding 200 million with over 1.7 million subscribers in just over a year, Why Don’t We has become one of pop music’s biggest breakout stories. Taking an innovative and unconventional approach towards releasing new music and actively engaging their rapidly growing fan base, the prolific young group – the quintet ranges in age from 16-19 years old – put out four EPs in under 12 months.

Following their debut EP Only The Beginning and follow-up Something Different EP, it was last Why Don’t We EP that first exploded, hitting #1 on the US iTunes’ Pop Albums chart, overtaking artists like Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, and Ed Sheeran.  After selling out their first-ever headlining US summer tour, the band put out their Invitation EP – released in September to commemorate the band’s one year anniversary – which proved an even greater success, topping iTunes’ “Overall Albums” chart in six countries including the United States.  The band’s single These Girls made a top 10 debut on the iTunes Store’s “Top Pop Songs” chart late last summer, while its colourful companion visual has logged over 48 million views at YouTube alone.

Why Don’t We kicked off the new year with the release of Trust Fund Baby. Written by global superstar and Atlantic labelmate Ed Sheeran, the track shot to #3 on iTunes’ “Overall Songs” chart and #2 on the “Pop Songs” chart.
