Being the change in the world you want to see is often what drives Scenic Route to Alaska and why their music is praised all over Canada, the US and around the globe. More than just words and melodies, this indie rock trio deliver substance in every track, then they go out and commit to the cause.
The heralded Edmonton-based band – Trevor Mann on lead vocals and guitar, drummer Shea Connor, and bassist Murray Wood – have worked tirelessly scaling the summit of the Canadian and international music scenes. Their two most recent LPs – 2016’s Long Walk Home and 2018’s Tough Luck through Indica Australia – weave memorable melodies and catchy vocals through compelling, musically-rich arrangements and earned a slew of awards and accolades on their backs.

Preparing for their upcoming fifth studio album, Scenic Route have been steadily releasing an amalgamation of top-shelf pop and rock singles, with “Closer” and “Call Your Friends” tackling topics from hopeless love to the real challenges that face our society today respectively. As Mann puts it, the new records are “a true representation of what we do when we get together and make music,” a formula that has regularly placed the band on featured playlists such as Spotify’s Ready to Rock, Rock Favourites and Endorphin Rush.
“Polarized” is the third single off the upcoming album and directly addresses the division that the world is experiencing. As we see more and more protests around a variety of issues in the States, Canada and our own backyard, we realise how polarising these quickly become. As is the modus operandi of the band, they take this opportunity to promote positivity and change rather than dwell in the darkness – it’s time for us to come together for the sake of a better, harmonious future.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
