Sydney band Wilder have teamed up with local producer Tim Carr to produce and mix their haunting debut single Ghosts, in addition to the entire upcoming five-song EP. Carr is most famous for producing Matt Corby’s five-time platinum single Into The Flame, and his work with prominent triple j artists Julia Stone and Urthboy.
Wilder’s single Ghosts marks the first release from the band, ahead of their EP set to drop later this year. Ghosts is an ode to lost love, and the look on someone’s face as they realise that their ‘foreverlove’ is leaving them. Frontman Will De Los Santos has a unique ability to make you live through his personal experience of watching his mother leaving his father, as if the pain were yours. It’s this raw honesty which has already positioned Ghosts as a fan-favourite after a number of intimate performances around New South Wales.
De Los Santos’ song writing is described by The Music as having “… mature and thoughtful ideas and arrangements, informed by a clear appreciation of genres and influences”. Heavily influenced by Joni Mitchell, Mumford & Sons and Bon Iver, the evocative and unique musical style of Wilder is sure to capture the imagination of Australian music fans.
Wilder’s five-song EP will be played in full ahead of the forthcoming release later this year, at the launch party for their single Ghosts. The launch party is set to take place at Della Hyde in Sydney, on Friday 14th of July.
