Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Will Clift has just unveiled his new single ‘How’ featuring Ash Kennedy – produced by Rob Amoruso (The Rubens, Sparrows, Jakubi) and Ben Oldland.
The track opens with washing sound effects, warm acoustic guitar plucks and delicate vocal samples, before the introduction of Will’s tender vocals. Ash Kennedy punctuates the second verse, harmonising beautifully with Will’s as light reverberating percussion elegantly complement the instrumentation, the now duet floating elegantly to its satisfying conclusion.
Will talks about the meaning behind ‘How’: “This single was written during a ski trip in Australia last year and was inspired by two of my close friends getting together for the first time. The general theme in the verses is ‘coziness’. Most of the time I like to write on my own, but it was great to have input from Rob, Ben and Ash on this track and I’m really proud of how it has turned out.”
For the last 14 years, Will has been busy as a sports professional, leading him into the world of Rugby Union with teams such as the Melbourne Rebels, but now is taking the leap on to the quick paced and ever-changing music scene. “I’ve played Rugby Union at a professional level and it’s a goal of mine to play professional rugby overseas in the near future as well as touring with my music of course,” Will explains.
“I’m also currently studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in Neuroscience with a concurrent diploma in French at the University of Melbourne.” he continues.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
