Multi-platinum-selling singer, producer and rapper Winston Surfshirt today returns with his first new music in two years; the kaleidoscopic new single “BOOTS” is out now via Sweat It Out and featured on Zane Lowe’s New Music Daily show on Apple Music.
Building on the sonic foundations laid in his critically acclaimed 2022 album, Panna Cotta, “BOOTS” is a dazzling ode to artistic evolution. Weaving together sparkling bass undertones and swirling disco-house melodies into a rich tapestry of sound, Winston breathes fresh life into his signature style, infusing it with a sense of exploration while staying rooted in his musical heritage. The single transports listeners to the electric dancefloors of the early 2000s, where vintage Miami bass meets contemporary flair. Winston captures that infectious energy, evoking a mosaic of memories that dance in sync with its irresistibly catchy chorus. Produced by the artist himself and OSWRLD (Mel Blue, Sycco, Moktar), with mixing by Grammy-nominated George Nicholas (Baynk, Genesis Owusu, Mansionair), today’s single is a masterclass in sonic craftsmanship, designed to make hearts race and bodies move. As Winston steps into this thrilling new chapter, “BOOTS” promises to be a beacon of joy and rhythm, lighting up playlists and dance floors with its magnetic charm.

Winston on “BOOTS”: “BOOTS is a party. I wrote this with a couple mates/producers OSWRLD and Beso Palma at my studio 10 months ago. We wanted something upbeat and nostalgic, and this one came up really quickly. It was done in a few hours. We put the beat together and started messing about over a loop, added some keys, bass and a pair of kids bongos. We wanted something sorta 00s disco, a bit Miami bassy, lyrically one of those songs that wrote itself – sometimes I’ll have a melody in my head that will stick with me until the right music presents itself and this was definitely one of those cases with the chorus – it’s like a magic to me that I can’t explain or show, like it’s only for me and when that piece or idea you have fits to something, it’s that abracadabra.”
Panna Cotta saw Winston collaborate with a dreamteam of his favourite artists, including multi-ARIA Award winner Genesis Owusu, Brooklyn royalty Talib Kweli, Australian icons Dope Lemon, YoungFranco, Milan Ring and New Zealand pop icon Kimbra. Recorded in Winston’s UK hometown of West Sussex, a place celebrated for its postcard-perfect countryside with winding roads and lush green pastures, the result was a sonic journey, spanning the gritty vibes of ’90s basement hip-hop and bootleg beat tapes to the warmth of dusty jazz recordings and the prismatic allure of ’60s psych-pop. On release, the record was awarded triple j’s Feature Album, as well as widespread praise from GQ, TheMusic, NME, Beat, Milky and more.
Winston Surfshirt began as the solo project of their eponymous frontman, singer, producer and rapper. Over time, he brought together close friends and local artists to form the globally beloved project that we know today. His extensive touring has led to sold-out shows across the UK and Europe, highlighted by iconic performances at Falls Festival, Spilt Milk, Field Day and Splendour in the Grass, with the latter immortalised on triple j’s Live At The Wireless. Across 200 million streams, three dreamy albums and collaborations with the likes of Channel Tres and Roy Davis Jr, the multi-Platinum and 4x Gold certified artist is celebrating nearly a decade of music-making, inviting fans along for the journey as he elevates and expands his sonic landscape.
Kick back and embrace summer with Winston Surfshirt’s latest track, out now!

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
