Acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter, Xavier Rudd announces his forthcoming EP Freedom Sessions, out March 29th via Salt.X Records / Virgin Music Group. Accompanying the announce is the new two-part single ‘World Order’.

On the release, Xavier says: “My first EP release in 25 years, ‘Freedom Sessions’ was created during a particularly unique period of time … and is a celebration of the blessing of ‘freedom’ – a simple state of being that we all should have the right to exist in.

The track ‘World order’ is a journey that explores the two parts or the yin and yang that is in everything and manifests within us so often. As a sensitive species of the planet that has strayed far from our original form and connection to our natural place on it, we are all often trying to find our way home to that place of complete resolve within. Due to the world order that has been inflicted on the planet and ourselves over the centuries we find ourselves negotiating the battles of generational trauma and conditioning that lingers in our hearts and minds. Such is life…. some days we have to scramble uphill with a heavy load and some days we feel like we can fly.”

About XAVIER RUDD

With a successful career spanning more than 20 years, Xavier Rudd is one of Australian music’s all-time greats. Beginning his career with 2002’s definitive ‘To Let’, fans across the globe were drawn to the unique talents of this distinctly Australian-looking multi-instrumentalist and human and environmental rights activist. His impressive live shows have morphed over the years between full band, trio, and solo performances – with his most current iteration being an internationally recognised one-man band showcase that is the most intricate set-up of his solo career to date.

The past two-years have been highly eventful for Xavier, with the release of his critically acclaimed tenth studio album, Jan Jun Moon, which was rewarded an Australian APRA awards title and the Environmental Music Prize – the prize money for which was donated to environmental rights groups. He also took his show to huge festival performances both at home and abroad, including the likes of Glastonbury, Pinkpop and Rock Werchter festivals in Europe.
