In exciting news for fans, XAVIER RUDD invites you to his inner sanctum for his premiere live streamed concert event, “BRAND NEW MOON – AT HOME WITH XAVIER RUDD,” exclusively on eMusic Live.

Taking place on Thursday March 24 from 8:00pm AEDT, the live streamed show will see Rudd preview a selection of songs from his brand-new, tenth studio album Jan Juc Moon for the first time anywhere in the world, ahead of its release the following day.

Nothing compares to experiencing Xavier Rudd in concert, a performer who is truly at his best on stage, acoustic guitar in hand. Engulfed by an ever more complex scaffold of didgeridoos, percussion and various eclectic instruments, Xavier cuts an utterly unique and compelling figure. One of Australia’s most successful international artists Xavier Rudd has amassed huge followings in Australia, North America, and Europe – he chooses idyllic destinations such as Spain, Portugal, and Croatia and of course Australia where his music, his message, and the environment around him all meet in stunning synchronicity.

Passionate about the environment, Xavier Rudd will donate $2 from every ticket sold to the live stream to Environs Kimberley – an organisation at the forefront of protecting the Kimberleys. Director Martin Pritchard said today, “Xavier has been standing up strong for Country and People for a long time. He carries the message around the world and for him to be supporting protecting the Kimberley and Country generally through his songs is so important to all of us.

“We are thankful that Xavier uses his talent and passion for the sake of the planet and future generations. This concert will go a long way towards protecting the Kimberley.”

Xavier Rudd’s national album tour to mark the release of Jan Juc Moon will take in all states, territories and major regions starting May 25th in Toowoomba, QLD and ending on July 27th in Karratha, WA

“I feel like with this record, I’ve been able to be really creative and I’m excited about what I’m making just because I’ve had time,” Xavier says, discussing Jan Juc Moon. “I’ve had the chance to do it all myself, which I haven’t done since Spirit Bird in terms of instrumentation and stuff, so I’ve been getting a bit trippy with an analog synthesizer…”

New single Ball and Chain is being extraordinarily received at radio across the country and according to Double J is said to be “… the protest song we need right now, and a solid reminder of what great music is all about – challenging the status quo” Double J on its Best New Music .

The accompanying video features J-MILLA and the Kabi Kabi dancers. Shot in both Super 8 and HD the clip was directed by Solomon Scopazzi at the historical Majestic Theatre in Pomono on the Sunshine Coast and boasts a beautiful sense of nostalgia intersecting with the now.

Xavier Rudd and eMusic Live present “BRAND NEW MOON – AT HOME WITH XAVIER RUDD”– get ready to preview tracks from JAN JUC MOON for the very first time, alongside favourites from his extensive catalogue.

About XAVIER RUDD:

Acoustic guitar in hand, engulfed by an ever more complex scaffold of didgeridoos, percussion and various eclectic instruments, Xavier cut an utterly unique and compelling figure as the world warmed to his first indie albums of the early 2000s, Live In Canada, To Let and Solace.

“When I first got successful, I was surprised, because I thought what I was doing was more like art,” he says. “I was experimenting with didges and gaffa-taping them to chairs and I always had this real love for wood and the tones of wood, so it was all very earthy.”

In the studio, his instinctive beginnings would gradually yield the more purposeful and crafted likes of Spirit Bird, Nanna (with 9-piece band the United Nations) and Storm Boy. His seven official live albums are eclipsed by countless bootlegs swapped by fans from Argentina to the Czech Republic, serving to double his audience on each return.

Today, Xavier’s relentless upward arc is among the most astounding success stories of our time. Over 20 years of touring, his Canadian shows have grown to 2500 capacity halls; in the USA to 10,000, including a sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2018. Through Europe, he plays to 2000-6000 fans per show. From the Netherlands to Japan, he regularly commands festival crowds in their tens of thousands.

Countless more celebrated acts have come and gone like fireworks as his campfire steadily grows: a beacon to the kind of music fan that seeks sustenance in a fast-food world.

“I value the simple things in life,” he shrugs. “I value community, culture, our connection to the earth as human beings. I don’t care too much for the other stuff. I think the roots of who we are, and what our ancestral lines are and how those stories have shaped us are the most important things. And I guess I always celebrate those things in my music.”

“I’ve been this long enough to realise that for some people, what I’m saying in my music really resonates,” he says. “You know, all of our ancestors around the planet have come from some form of struggle and we carry that, all of us, years on. We’ve all got stuff to heal. And I think music is the greatest medicine on the planet.”

About ENVIRONS KIMBERLEY:

The Kimberley is one of the world’s last great natural and cultural landscapes. There are not many places left on earth that haven’t been industrialised or urbanised and fortunately Australia’s Kimberley is one of these regions.

The magic of the Kimberley touches everyone who goes there but despite how special the place is, it’s under threat from fossil fuel extraction through fracking and industrial scale agriculture along the Martuwarra Fitzroy River. The push to exploit the  Kimberley’s world class landscapes has been going on for decades and traditional owners, conservation organisations and people from all over the world  have held back industrialisation until now.

One of the organisations at the forefront of protecting the Kimberley is Environs Kimberley (EK). Set up by locals to protect the Martuwarra Fitzroy River 25 years ago, EK is still going strong in partnership with traditional owners to look after Country.
