“If you like powerful, soulful voices like Dermot Kennedy and storytellers like Vance Joy, then this is for you.” – Substream
“Folk-hewn but modern-facing, his work sits alongside those early Ben Howard cuts or even Jack Johnson, that kind of slick but still endearingly earnest musicality.” – Clash, UK
“Ziggy Alberts: The golden boy who busked his way to success.” – Triple J
“Youthful songwriter Ziggy Alberts’ sound has been described as ‘coastal folk’. It’s an apt description, with ‘Laps Around The Sun’ demonstrating both the warmth and loneliness of the coast.” – Songwriting Magazine

At only 25 years-old, Ziggy Alberts is constantly pushing boundaries for self-funded independent artists. His successes so far include the release of five records, starting his own label Commonfolk Records, and playing sold out shows across the world; effortlessly attracting millions of listeners.
With 37 sold out dates in Australia and New Zealand (2018/19 leg), 28 dates in Europe and 37 dates in North America, Ziggy’s ‘Laps Around The Sun World Tour’ has seen him headline rooms of all shapes and sizes across the world. Bringing the tour home in November/December 2019, Ziggy will finish the year having played over 110 shows (73,421 tickets sold to date).
Premiered back in August on Triple J, Ziggy Alberts’ latest single is “Intentions (22)”. Ziggy described the track to be “a point marker track; a ‘this-is-where-I’m-at’ song… It details the last year of my life post-releasing Laps Around The Sun. I am continuing to grow as a singer-songwriter. As opposed to sticking to one genre and limiting myself, I’m trying to explore new directions. It was recorded in New York and I’m jestingly describing it as a folk/rap song.”
“Intentions (22)” is a deep, self-reflective track expressing his hardships of life on the road and relationships made along the way. Ziggy has recently put together an exclusive behind the scenes look at his creative process and the makings of this track. Check it out here:
