’Terrified’ – lamenting the attention ‘Last Words’ brought – could fill stadiums on its own.” – Q Magazine, 4****

“The Ealing troubadour’s debut LP showcases a songwriter with a poet’s turn of phrase and a searing voice to match” – GQ Magazine UK

“…a poetic creature who channels a mysticism, haloing his sounds with a timeless quality” – i-D

“… the album starts as spectacularly as any newcomer could hope for; majestic, soaring melodies stretching out beneath Isaac’s gut-wrenching musings on his own self-doubt. Then comes a real slice of awesome.” – DIY Mag

“Gracie is poetic in his placement of words and accomplished in their delivery… enticingly beautiful.” – Forte, 4****

Described by NME as “One of Britain’s most astonishingly talented songwriters”, Isaac Gracie has just released his hotly-anticipated, self-titled debut album in Australia via Dew Process / EMI.

The softly-softly, Dylan-nodding brilliance of his latest single ‘Last Words’ changed Gracie’s life. No sooner had he written it, he was subject to big figure record deals and comparisons to hero Jeff Buckley in the press. For someone with no knowledge of the music industry and with only a handful more songs to his name, he didn’t feel prepared for this recognition, or the fabled type of hyperbole heralding him as a one-of-a-kind songwriter.

Since its release in late February, ‘Last Words’ has gone on to gain over a million streams worldwide and Isaac Gracie last week reached over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The track premiered on BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, claimed the title of ‘Hottest Record’ and was added to the Radio 1 playlist. The track is currently riding high on the BBC Radio 1 A List. It has also been added to the Absolute Radio C List.

The highly popular 2017 single and album closer ‘Reverie’ has reached over 13 million streams on Spotify with tastemakers DIY Mag claiming of the slow and sparkling tune “a deeply evocative, emotional six-minute wonder.”

Gracie’s eponymous debut album is the sound of an artist bit-by-bit breaking through the hype and the seeds of doubt that stem from heavy expectation. It’s a musician realising he is cut out for this. Most importantly, it documents the warts ‘n all transition from disbelief in one’s own ability to displaying a subtle confidence. Despite existing a thousand miles from the scrappy bedroom demos that brought Gracie to prominence, you first hear the cracks, the strains and the nagging fear that tests every creative. Then you hear the pay-off.

Recorded on-and-off between mid-2015 and late 2017, predominantly overseen by revered producer Markus Dravs (Florence + the Machine, Arcade Fire), Gracie says his first work captures the “darkest, the roughest and most uncertain time in my life,” while managing to examine this turmoil from a distance and a safer sanctuary. Its journey is one of self-reflection, he says, “of asking: ‘What is this?’ ‘Who am I?’ and trying to amicably resolve those questions.” It finds answers, too. After finishing the record, Gracie began to realise his place in the world: “I’ve been gifted an opportunity that barely anyone gets,” he says. “It’s my responsibility to make the most of it.”

Gracie was recently featured in Interview Magazine who declared of the twenty-three year old, Ealing raised singer-songwriter’s overwhelming magnetism “Isaac Gracie is entrancingly beautiful to behold. Watching him on stage, lost in the introspective world his music creates, entire crowds are silenced. Gracie addresses the fans shyly and yet affects those whom he performs to profoundly. His kindness and gentleness are tangible throughout in his movements and in his words, present in his gaze.”

Having recently supported Australia’s resident sibling sweethearts Angus & Julia Stone on their massive, twenty-two date headline tour across Europe, Isaac Gracie has just kicked off his very own, twenty-nine date UK/EU headline tour performing at iconic venues such as O2 Institute2 Birmingham and O2 Academy2 Oxford. He has also been announced on a number of European Summer festivals including Reading and Leeds.
