OCEAN GROVE ANNOUNCE
THE RHAPSODY TAPES
AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE TOUR

Odd World bandits Ocean Grove have announced their much-anticipated Australian headline tour. Set to take place this August, the boys from Melbourne have rounded up their mates in Justice For The Damned, Broken and The Beverly Chills to officially celebrate the release of their epic debut, The Rhapsody Tapes.

Written, recorded and produced entirely by the band in their drummer/producer Sam Bassal’s bedroom (who was just 19 years old), Ocean Grove’s ARIA Top #5 debut The Rhapsody Tapes has been a game changer for the band. With triple j labelling the album as “one of the first great heavy records of 2017”, fans got a taste of what’s to come when Ocean Grove supported Architects on their wildly successful Australian tour earlier this month, leading Heavy Magazine to dub them as “one of the best Australian heavy music acts going around right now”.

Right now, Ocean Grove are sitting on a plane heading over to Europe for their first ever overseas shows. Kicking off with appearances on Slam Dunk Festival, Ocean Grove will play a run of dates with their Australian label buddies Beartooth before returning to the UK to play a headline show in London, which has already sold out! Not bad for a band who have never left Australia. And let’s not forget the guys are booked to play Splendour In The Grass upon their return.

Justice For The Damned have completely grasped the concept of patience being a virtue, even if their rabid fan base has not. The Sydney five-piece have spent the past few years consciously and methodically planning their path, cutting their teeth alongside contemporaries such as Polaris. In late 2016, the band stepped into the studio with Ocean Grove’s very own Sam Basal to produce what is gearing up to be a monster record, with their first taste coming in the form of first single “Please Don’t Leave Me”.

Also joining the tour will be fellow Melbournians Broken. With fast paced riffs and rage fuelled lyrics, Broken’s unique take on New York inspired hardcore has seen them share the stage with Mindsnare,Expire, Endless Heights and in August they can add Ocean Grove to their growing list.

The Beverly Chills are two small town Australian boys who met by chance loitering behind the stage at a rock show. Realising they shared an obsession with punk rock and positions on the autism spectrum, they started a manic surf punk band that has sounds a bit like Fidlar and has enjoyed stage time with Dune Rats and The Gooch Palms.
