Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: P!nk ‘What About Us’ (debut) – With the first single from her forthcoming seventh album Beautiful Trauma, American star P!nk scores her ninth #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. ‘What About Us’ draws P!nk level with Delta Goodrem for the second most #1 singles in ARIA Charts history. P!nk has previously hit #1 with ‘Most Girls’ (#1 Oct. ’00), the collaboration with Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim and Mýa, ‘Lady Marmalade’ (#1 May ‘01), ‘Get The Party Started’ (#1 Dec. ’01), ‘So What’ (#1 Sept. ’08), ‘Raise Your Glass’ (#1 Oct. ’10), ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’ (#1 Jul. ’12), ‘Just Give Me A Reason’ (#1 Feb. ’13) and ‘Just Like Fire’ (#1 May ’16). Beautiful Trauma is released in October.

#2: Macklemore Feat. Skylar Grey ‘Glorious’ – A further jump of one spot for ‘Glorious’ in its eighth week in the top 50 gives it a new peak.

#6: Kesha ‘Praying’ – In the week that her comeback album Rainbow debuts at #3, its lead single has moved up two spots to claim a new peak. It previously peaked at #7.

#15: Dua Lipa ‘New Rules’ – Moving up five spots this week, ‘New Rules’ becomes Dua Lipa’s second-highest peak on the ARIA Singles Chart. Her best place to date has been with ‘Be The One’ (#6 May ’16).

#33: Avicii Feat. Sandro Cavazza ‘Without You’ – The first appearance on the ARIA Singles Chart for Swedish DJ/producer Avicii since ‘Broken Arrows’ (#30 Nov. ’15). ‘Without You’ comes from Avicii’s new EP Avici, which has debuted at #14 on this week’s Albums Chart.

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Paul Kelly ‘Life Is Fine’ (debut)  – Legendary Australian singer-songwriter Paul Kelly scores his first ever #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Life Is Fine, in career spanning 40years. Kelly’s 23rd studio album comes following a busy 2016 that saw him release two albums: Seven Sonnets And A Song (#9 May ’16) and Death’s Dateless Night (#16 Oct. ’16). Life Is Fine takes over from Songs From The South (#2 Jun. ’97) as Kelly’s highest-charting album and from … Nothing But A Dream (#7 Aug. ’01) as his highest-charting studio album. Paul Kelly was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 1997.

#3: Kesha ‘Rainbow’ (debut) – The third album from Kesha gives the American artist the highest peak of her career on the ARIA Albums Chart. Rainbow is Kesha’s first album since Warrior (#12 Dec. ’12) and the first to hit the top five since debut Animal (#4 Jan. ’10). The album includes the single ‘Praying’ (#6 Aug. ’17).

#5: Jen Cloher ‘Jen Cloher’ (debut) – With her self-titled fourth album, Melbourne singer-songwriter Jen Cloher makes her top 50 debut on the ARIA Albums Chart. The album is the follow-up to 2013’s In Blood Memory and features guest appearances from Dan Luscombe of The Drones and American singer-songwriter Kurt Vile.

#13: The Preatures ‘Girlhood’ (debut) – Album two from The Preatures gives the Sydney rock band their second appearance in the top 50 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Girlhood is the follow-up to the group’s ARIA-nominated debut Blue Planet Eyes (#4 Oct. ’14).

#14: Avicii ‘Avici’ (debut) – Swedish DJ/producer Avicii picks up his first appearance on the ARIA Albums Chart since Stories (#10 Oct. ’15) with the EP Avici. The six track release includes the track ‘Without You’ (#33 Aug. ’17) as well as collaborations with Rita Ora and AlunaGeorge.
