AEORA

“Fenceline”

(Single Review)

.

“Oh, you kicked me out of your world. Didn’t quite speak, you just let me go and I felt threatened like I lost my soul. It was difficult to realise, that’s not how it goes…” – Aeora.

.

Aeora is back! Fenceline is the new dark and gloomy track from Melbournian Electro-Pop artist, Aeora. Fenceline follows Aeora’s highly raved about the first single released in 2017, Boss-y; another dark Electro-Pop hit full of empowerment for oneself, humanity, the human mind and freedom of speech.

The near five-minute track contrasts well with Aeora’s previous single, playing upon the idea of losing yourself and your identity in the emotional games of a relationship, and how one fights to regain who they really are. Fenceline takes you on a journey of self-discovery and the loss of human (oneself and others) connection, from rock bottom up to where she wants or needs to be. The song is somewhat an ode also, to all those who have struggled with their identity alone at some point in their life. The unearthly darkness of the Electronic production stands out in the track, but not more so than Aeora’s signature – the strength of her ethereal, enthralling vocal command.

.

“I wonder if you want me now. I wonder if you see me now. I wonder if you left town. I wonder what you’re doing ‘cos I’m doing better now.”- Aeora.

.

If you thought Boss-y was an absolute hit, it’s time to give Fenceline a whirl! The track is dark and heavy, but intensely powerful, strong and relevant thanks to its lyrics. Once again, Aeora has delivered a hard-hitting track where her vocals flawlessly encapsulate and blend with her exploration of different Electronic sounds; always pushing the boundaries, always wanting more.

Fenceline has taken Aeora’s musical journey and sound to new heights. Fenceline is raw, distinct, mature and in every way truly a genuine Aeora sound.

“And now I fight like a chemical, but how was I meant to breathe? And now I’m always defensive, like everyone’s surrounding me. And now I fight like an enzyme, but not really wanting to bind. And I’ve lived on the fenceline, never committing to anything…” – Aeora.
