Who’s ready for some good feel bluesy rock?

American singer/songwriter Anderson East has released the lead single All On My Mind for his upcoming studio album Encore set to be released on January 12. The new single, written by Ed Sheeran, is already giving Anderson huge widespread attention all over the United States along with performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Ellen. As his new track is already climbing the top 10 charts in the US, he follows the success of previous singles such as Satisfy Me and Devil In Me.

When I first listened to the track, I knew straight away that it wasn’t my usual style of music that I listen to. The instrumental of the track automatically made me believe that it would be perfectly featured during a scandalous scene of Gossip Girl. The slow, sensual ease in of the instruments such as a strong drumbeat really gives the track its energy and spark. His loud, raspy vocals fit effortlessly with the melody and I was surprisingly drawn in within the first listen. Its rhythm is captivating, different and has a sense of sexiness to it.

The lyrics of the track are quite tongue and cheek. Anderson sings about the qualities that he dears about his lover and how the strong mutual admiration of their relationship is on his mind all the time. You can predict through the lyrics that the feelings between both lovers are very solid and its kind of makes me jealous to listen to. The singer touches on themes of love, lust and fascination. Along with the instrumental, his vocals and lyrics give the song a rough, sexy kind of vibe and I am extremely digging it.

Not knowing that Anderson East existed before listening to this track, I’m so excited to have found an artist not typical of my choice to listen to and follow. He gives off such a cool ambiance within this track as it makes you want get up and get loose. The passion within his vocals and the depth of his lyrics support the track tremendously well in giving listeners a clear visual image of his contention. If you’re looking for something unusual, a little old school and fun, Anderson’s new track has definitely got those assets.
