Interview with PAULINI

If Australia has a version of Beyonce, it’s Paulini. Her third album, Come Alive is released this Friday and is being praised as her best yet. Her vocals are amazing and the songs, written by the talented beauty are an honest insight into her life & have everything from weeping love lyrics to up-tempo dance tunes that you’ll instantly fall in love with.

AMNplify’s Pauli Dee spoke to Paulini about what went in to making the album that will undoubtedly make its much-deserved mark in the international music industry.

Pauli: Thanks for chatting to me Paulini. Your new album Come Alive is out in two days… How are your emotions leading up to its release?

Paulini: Oh they’re kind of everywhere to be honest. I’m excited, I’m nervous, I’m scared. It’s all those things in one, but I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been a long time coming, so most of all, I’m excited.

Pauli: You’ve travelled the world writing & recording it. How has that impacted on the finished product?

Paulini: Yeah so I basically got signed to an awesome publishing agent, “Alberts” and they basically set up a few writing camps over in Germany, London, Paris & the U.S & basically I just wanted to have a break and really concentrate on the song-writing aspect of my career and so I got to travel & I got to see all these amazing countries that I never thought I’d travel to & also do what I love, which is write & perform, so it’s been a great experience for me. Especially being in different countries, you know, you always get inspired to write about different things & your whole outlook on life sort of changes, so it’s been a great experience for me.

Pauli: Is seeing the finished album now what you had envisioned it to be two years ago when you first started working on it?

Paulini: Ahh, yeah… It’s pretty much what I had in mind. It’s basically all my experiences in life & my lyrics & I’ve just tried to be really honest with the way I write. I’ve always wanted to be a part of it from the beginning to the end of the process and that’s pretty much what I’ve done with this album, it’s great & it’s a great feeling at the end of it because you know you’ve put your all into it & yeah, it did basically turn out exactly how I had envisioned it to be, so I’m really proud of it.

Pauli: Do you have a favourite song off the album?

Paulini: Hmmm… one of my favourites would have to be “Come Alive,” ummm, I do like “Fly” also and “Hung Over You” I guess… Oh gee, that’s three! Sorry!!!

Pauli: “Life after love” seems to be a re-occurring theme on the album, but one song that ISN’T about love is the vary catchy “Not Another Love Song” How did that one come about?
