ORLANDO WEEKS

‘BIGGER’
SOPHOMORE ALBUM HOP UP

Orlando Weeks today shares his new single ‘Bigger’; one of many standout singles from his highly anticipated sophomore solo album, Hop Up, out January 14, 2022 on Play It Again Sam.
Weeks notes ”‘Bigger’ is the all stomping little brother to the head nod of ‘Deep Down’ . Part of the song is about recognising that a person or people can be your world. And if that person or people is growing up right in front of you then in a very actual way their growth is your growth. With a little post rationalising I also realise that the process of making Hop Up was a revelation. Embracing the cloud 9 ethos of the album, opened my mind up to a whole area of music that I’d always consigned to being beyond my jurisdiction.”

Arriving in the wake of the former Maccabees frontman’s critically acclaimed debut solo album A Quickening, Weeks’ forthcoming record once again leans into themes of new life & parenthood, but whereas his previous work catalogued the emotions, expectations and anxieties that accompany imminent parenthood, Hop Up is an altogether more joyous and life affirming statement. A statement of relieved celebration.
In addition to producer Bullion (solo artist and founder of DEEK Recordings) and Ben Reed (best known as part of Frank Ocean’s live band), Weeks’ new songs also feature inspiring contributions from Katy J Pearson and Willie J Healey.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
