‘Whack’ – oh yeah, that’s right! What a perfect way to start a set.

The energy and connection to a solid Perth fanbase was instantaneous.

It set the tone for a fully interactive and exciting show. Followed by ‘Stop for a minute’ from the 2021 Album ‘Now We’re Cookin’ and the vibe was cemented. The single ‘Unstable’ released only last month was a winner. Whether you were new to the band or a stalwart fan of the 2014 Sydney duo, it would have been impossible not to be engaged. Did you know there are four members in Polish Club now? David Novak remains the revered Capitan of that ship and the ultimate front man, this extension does bring the band into a new dimension and kudos to the sound engineer because it’s not often the live performance recreates the quality sound of a studio. Performing tracks from 2019 Album ‘Iguana’ the crowd sang loud with ‘Clarity’ & ‘Breakapart’. Concluding the show with ‘No Heaven’ Polish Club are a band that produces music that consumers can sing-along to, that always provides a great live experience. It is the true beauty of real & organic rock music and also the beauty of the Badlands venue. The event was sold out from the first sniff of the show coming to Perth. Badlands has a decent vantage point all through the venue, you can feel & become part of the event, a grossly underestimated experience for fans of live music, that gets lost at larger venues.

Additionally, Melbourne’s Press Club bought their post punk/indie influenced bangers to their established Perth fans on this national tour. Natalie Foster is like a breath of fresh air, blessed with pipes that can rip your heart out, her authentic energy and delivery is magnetic. Showcasing tracks from their two albums, ‘Wasted Energy & Late Teens’. The pairing of these bands was complimentary, and it worked, although they do a attract a quite different demographic.

Now that our borders are open, we expect to welcome more of Australia’s own talent back to WA. This show was an exciting reintroduction to our National music scene, after countless rescheduled or cancelled shows. Its something we have missed and looked forward to for too long.

The guys have a couple of remaining shows on this tour and if you are lucky you may still score a ticket to see them in Victoria on the 22nd or 23rd of April via OzTix.
