Album Highlights: 

#1: Red Hot Chili Peppers ‘Unlimited Love’ – American funk rock veterans Red Hot Chili Peppers pick up their seventh #1 album on the ARIA Charts as they debut in the top spot with Unlimited Love. The Californian group’s twelfth studio album is the follow-up to The Getaway (#1 Jun. ‘16) and is their first album to feature guitarist John Frusciante since Stadium Arcadium (#1 May ‘06). Red Hot Chili Peppers have also previously held #1 with Blood Sugar Sex Magik (#1 Apr. ‘92), One Hot Minute (#1 Sept. ‘95), Californication (#1 Jun. ‘99), By The Way (#1 Jul. ‘02), Stadium Arcadium (#1 May ‘06) and The Getaway(#1 Jun. ’16). Unlimited Love also debuts at #1 on the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart this week.

#2: Olivia Rodrigo ‘SOUR’ – In its 46th week in the Top 50, Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR climbs up three spots to #2. It comes following the American artist’s triumph at this week’s Grammy Awards, where she won three trophies including Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album.

#5: Harry Styles ‘Fine Line’ – With ‘As It Was’ hitting #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, Harry Styles has had a swift climb up the Albums Chart. His second album Fine Line is up eleven spots to #5, while his self-titled debut has re-entered the Top 50 at #23.

#7: Confidence Man ‘Tilt’ – Confidence Man grab their first ARIA Top Ten entry, debuting at #7 with Tilt. The Brisbane electro-pop act’s second album comes four years on from Confident Music For Confident People (#31 Apr. ’18). It also lands them at #1 on the ARIA Australian Artist Albums Chart and #4 on this week’s Vinyl Albums Chart.

#24: Midnight Oil ‘Resist’ – Midnight Oil’s former #1 moves back up the chart 18 spots to #24 this week. It comes following the release of Resist on vinyl.

#26: Meshuggah ‘Immutable’ – Swedish metal band Meshuggah take out their third career Top 50 entry as they debut at #26 with Immutable. The follow-up to The Violent Sleep of Reason (#9 Oct. ’16) is the group’s ninth album.

Singles Highlights:

#1: Harry Styles ‘As It Was’ – British pop superstar Harry Styles claims his second solo #1 single on the ARIA Charts with ‘As It Was’. The track is the first to come from Styles’ forthcoming third album, Harry’s House, set for release on 20 May. It’s the singer-songwriter’s first new entry on the chart since ‘Falling’ (#35 Dec. ’19) and ‘Golden’ (#39 Nov. ’20) hit the chart in the same week in December 2019. Harry Styles’ first hit #1 with his debut solo single ‘Sign Of The Times’ (#1 Apr. ’17). His previous single ‘Watermelon Sugar’ (#5 Jul. ’20) has re-entered the chart at #44.

#13: Latto ‘Big Energy’ – A week on from its debut, American rapper Latto has jumped 22 spots to hit #13 with ‘Big Energy’. Last week, the track hit #3 in the US thanks to the release of a remix featuring Mariah Carey and DJ Khaled.

#22: Shawn Mendes ‘When You’re Gone’ – Debuting at #22 with ‘When You’re Gone’, Shawn Mendes hit the Singles Chart for the first time since 2020. The Canadian artist debuted the song in a live show at this year’s South By Southwest in Austin, Texas. His last appearance on the chart was with the Justin Bieber collaboration ‘Monster’ (#7 Nov. ’20).

#27: Lil Tjay ‘In My Head’ – American rapper Lil Tjay takes out his second ARIA Top 50 entry, debuting at #27 with ‘In My Head’. The new track comes just over a year on from ‘Calling My Phone’ (#3 Feb. ’21), which not only gave him a Top Three entry in Australia, but also in the US, UK, New Zealand, and a #1 in Canada.

#29: Dean Lewis ‘Hurtless’ – ARIA Award-winning singer-songwriter Dean Lewis picks up his first chart entry for 2022 with ‘Hurtless’. Lewis last charted with ‘Falling Up’ (#48 Jun. ’21), which was nominated for Song Of The Year at the 2021 ARIA Awards.
