Otherworldly producer and songwriter Brambles, also known as Mira Dawson, has today announced Demon, their spine-tingling new single, out today. The new single – released just in time for Halloween – is written from the terrifying perspective of a sleep paralysis demon, and embraces textured hyperpop influences that will excite and intrigue audiences. Demon precedes Mirror, the new album from Brambles, a mysterious offering set to drop very soon.
Demon is, in a word, wild – untamed, textural synths swoop amongst the rhythmic, almost chant-like vocal line. It’s a strong, haunting release that echoes its disturbing theme both in lyric and sound, creating an unsettling world that feels like a distorted mirror to our own. Speaking on the theme of the track, Brambles says, “This song is from the perspective of a sleep paralysis demon. The demon lives in a lake and comes out at night to people’s beds to paralyse and pull them back to the watery depths. It’s also inspired by the movie ‘Under The Skin’ and Demon/magical folklore. Demon is a tale from one of the many mirror dimensions that the album is based around. It’s probably the most club-banging track on the release. I always wanted to make a Halloween banger.”
Featuring samples from retro video games from the ‘90s, Demon is a singular track that will certainly heighten anticipation for Brambles’ new upcoming LP. It will be the artists’ first new full-length release since 2012’s Charcoal, a universally acclaimed album which has been placed in multiple TV programs and found celebrity fans including Elliot Page and members of massive indie band Foals.
When asked where they draw inspiration from, Brambles looks far and wide, as they say, “Nature, being around animals, walking at night, mythology, stories, discovering musical genres and instruments I haven’t heard before, the past and future.”
Demon is out now.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
