Today, acclaimed singer-songwriter Sahara Beck announces the release of her highly-anticipated sophomore album, All Attention On Your Emotions. The album is set to be released on 27 October 2023 and will be a much-anticipated follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut album Panacea.

All Attention On Your Emotions promises to be a significant milestone in Sahara’s career, showcasing her growth as a musician and songwriter. The album will feature 10 tracks, including recent releases ‘Mr Breezy’, ‘Like You’ and ‘Hunter’, that delve into the complexities of the human condition. Thematically, the album is inspired by Plutchiks ‘Wheel of Emotion’, with each song taking on a character of emotion revealed from beneath the cloak of Sahara’s clever storytelling and colourful sonic artistry.

To coincide with the news, the Sunshine Coast-based singer-songwriter today releases ‘Thinking Twice’, the third single release from the album, providing yet another intimate glimpse into her voyage of self-discovery and personal evolution. Recorded in Brisbane, Sahara recounts her introduction to the song and the magnetism she felt upon first hearing the bones of the track in the studio while in a writing session with multi ARIA Award winning Producer/Engineer/Songwriter Kon Kersting (Tones And I, The Jungle Giants, Milky Chance, Spacey Jane).

“It was so lovely to record ‘Thinking Twice’ with Konsti in Brisbane,” says Sahara. “This song was one he initially brought into our session, and I just had an immediate connection with it, so we worked on it together for the album. Each song on the album, this one included, reflects in detail how my 25-year-old brain was processing emotions at the time.”

The poignant lyrics of ‘Thinking Twice’ expose Sahara’s vulnerability and honesty as a songwriter as she reflects on key moments of introspection—while enveloped in a haze of smoke or deep in the throws of yet another hangover—contemplating how she found herself repeatedly sinking into such depths despite the personal consequences.

Reflecting on the lyrical component, Sahara elaborates, “’Thinking Twice’ came amid the realisation I had a lot of work to do on myself. I was moving through my life in a very reactive way and not being conscious of the choices I was making or the actions I was taking”. She continues, “I was constantly catching myself smoking and thinking, I hate that I smoke – why am I doing this? Or being hungover again and thinking, I hate this feeling – how did I let myself get here again? If I had thought twice about what I was doing instead of instantly reacting, maybe the outcome would be different.”

As a songwriter, Sahara has garnered multiple accolades and international recognition. She was a 2022 finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and the Nashville-based Unsigned Find Comp, and in 2019, she placed 3rd in the prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition. Furthermore, she has received numerous QLD Music Awards and prestigious honours, including the Carol Lloyd Award in 2020 and the esteemed Grant McLennan Fellowship in 2023.

Renowned for her magnetic stage presence and unparalleled showmanship, Sahara Beck has graced illustrious venues and festivals across the globe, from captivating audiences at Glastonbury Festival and the renowned Queen Elizabeth Hall in London to leaving an indelible mark on esteemed events like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Perth Fringeworld, Woodford Folk Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Blues Festival Byron Bay, Falls Music & Arts Festival, and more. Additionally, she has shared the stage with acclaimed artists such as Bishop Briggs, The Rubens, Kim Churchill, Ball Park Music, Ocean Alley, and Paul Kelly.

Beyond her live performances, Sahara’s music has featured in prominent media campaigns and sought-after sync placements, including a Haagen-Dazs TV commercial featuring Bradley Cooper and NBC’s hit series ‘Girlfriends Guide To Divorce’, among other notable placements. On the airwaves, Sahara’s music has resonated globally, receiving widespread radio support from influential stations such as BBC Radio Scotland, Indie XFM in Los Angeles, Radio Doble Nueve in Peru, 2XM in Ireland, Radio Alternative Rock in Brazil, Radio One in India, ZFM in the Netherlands, and triple J in her native Australia, to name just a few.

With the release of All Attention On Your Emotions, Sahara is poised to take her career to the next level and solidify her place as one of Australia’s most exciting and eclectic artists.
