Angus Dawson presents us with his new single ‘What We’ve Done’, feat. Bri Clark. The brooding track shortly follows single ‘Pieces’ and is the second single from his sophomore EP Camouflage to be released next month.

The Perth producer is a master of encapsulating indie electronica. ‘What We’ve Done’ showcases his ability to create ambient and fulfilling soundscapes with intricate layering and artistic restraint.
Opening with glossy synth lines and Clark’s deep, smoky vocals, ‘What We’ve Done’ embraces Dawson calling card sound scapes with the freshness of the mixed vocals. Dawson takes a backing role until the second verse. The introduction of his warm lead vocals are fuelled with wholesome emotion and powerful control. The silky-smooth production and blended vocals throughout the work brings an air of romance and heartbreak in equal parts.
‘What We’ve Done’ came together in an effortless writing session. The piecing of chords, humming of a tune and lyrics picked from personal experiences. Clark was invited to join the recording adding female vocals. Her uniquely powerful and soulful voice was captured almost seamlessly from the first take.
‘What We’ve Done’ and ‘Pieces’ are just the first tastes of Dawson’s sophomore EP. Set for release 18thSeptember, Camouflage is the culmination of the past six years of searching deeper into a truly immersive sound while pushing emotional and boundaries.
2017 was a massive year of firsts for Dawson. He released his debut EP Ellesmere Street, set out on his first national headline tour and dropped a remix EP with Yeo, Feels, Life is Better Blonde, Slow Slate. His first single ‘Battles’ hit the Global Viral Spotify Charts, and hit overover 1.2 million streams across Spotify and Soundcloud, had plays across triple j, triple j Unearthed and had recent tour support slots with the likes of including Emma Louise, Vera Blue, Japanese Wallpaper.
Angus Dawson is recognised for introverted and reflective work. Writing from the inside, his personal experiences are explored through the delicate and immersive ambient/electronic production and storytelling.
