After months of a COVID induced slumber, St Kilda is set to come alive thanks to April Sun! A diverse program of outdoor, COVID safe music events running from April 15 to May 2!
An autumnal entertainment delight, April Sun, will serve up a platter of headline concerts, mini-festivals, day parties and family programming, featuring Australia’s finest to satisfy the many and varied palates of Melbourne music lovers. Held in the grounds of the St Kilda Triangle, directly adjacent to The Palais Theatre. The events will allow patrons to book single tickets and sit in a position of their choice within each zone. The space will be transformed into a live music venue at one of Australia’s most iconic foreshore locations.
Kicking off with an evening curated by the legends at Future Classic featuring drumming, singing global superstar G FLIP, multi-instrumentalist, self-confessed synth-freak and italo-style icon Touch Sensitive, Brisbane singer-songwriter Sycco and streaming pop wunderkind Thomas Headon.
POOF DOOF DAY DOOF is here, it’s queer and ready to paint St. Kilda rainbow for April Sun! The most inclusive dance club in Australia, POOF DOOF are throwing a day party under their multi-coloured disco ball! Featuring the booty-shaking beats of Sneaky Sound System, the breathtaking beauty of Electric Fields, drag DJ duo Jawbreakers, Yo!Mafia, Sgt Slick, YUMMY plus so many more epic live acts, DJs and drag superstars to be announced. This is a Day Doof you won’t want to miss so wrangle your best Judys, werk out a fierce festival look and let’s DOOF!
Polish your crowns and spend the night with Australian alt-rock royalty, You Am I, who arrive at April Sun bearing gifts of their first new tunes in five years; lauded, loved and awarded, seminal Geelong outfit Magic Dirt; KISS’s new tour mates Dallas Crane and Melbourne hard rock trio The Casanovas.
House and techno Kings, Thick As Thieves, will be delivering the best of Melbourne’s underground to raise your vibration. Stay tuned for the big reveal.
Australia’s twins of electronica, and superstar K-Pop collaborators, Cosmo’s Midnight will bring St Kilda to life with their pop bathed club anthems, joined by Brisbane pop princess Eves Karydas, the next big thing in innovative genre hopping; ASHWARYA and singer/songwriter/rapper/master-of-all-trades PRICIE.
Sydney grime rap heavy weight, CHILLINIT is rolling out not one, but two epic shows for April Sun, giving Melbournians their first chance to see tracks from his latest LP ‘Full Circle’ (Oct 2020) live.
Grammy award nominees Hiatus Kaiyote will be joined by some special friends for an evening of wondercore and their brand of progressive neo-soul, including Melbourne DJ and funk synthesist Harvey Sutherland, the genre-blending signature instrumental sound of Grievous Bodily Calm, and soul, RnB, pop sensation Kee’ahn.
Live Nation in collaboration with Melbourne based independent event producers Pavilion Australia and tastemakers Shadow Electric, have developed an outdoor entertainment experience in the heart of Melbourne’s iconic St Kilda Beach Foreshore, featuring a program of headline concerts, mini-festivals, day parties and family programming.

Ticketing
April Sun aims to deliver a festival level presentation of quality content in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable format. All tickets are unreserved. Dancing in/near your seat (whilst socially distancing) is allowed and encouraged. Tickets are on sale for individual purchase; each ticket is allocated to one of four zones; assemble your crew and claim your zone.
In the unlikely event of cancellation due to a change in public health directives, all tickets will be refunded.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
