Melbourne musician ARIELA JACOBS played BIGSOUND to an overwhelming response as her second single ‘Say So’, played in her uber on the way to her EMPIRE HOTEL showcase. To introduce the release, Ariela snuck into a pool to deliver in signature style a stripped down, live and evoking acoustic visual to honour the song that stands for love, which almost never made it out of the studio room.

‘Say So’ was written alongside the EP’s first single ‘Leave Your Light On’ and was a welcomed release from new and old listeners and the media. Following on from her sophomore EP, ‘Yesteryear’. A gifted storyteller, Ariela describes ‘Say So’ as ‘a single that stands for trusting in the process, love…and everyone in therapy”. The song translates quite literally and the astrological references in its bridge, within the lyrics “I’m beginning to reason the tide, all of the moons and all of the lives’ will be the pique of your emotions.

Ariela’s single is now available on all major digital music platforms, gifted with a b-side track that is close to heart, ‘Saving Grace’. Written almost two years ago, Ariela re-recorded ‘Saving Grace’ as a live track to breathe life into a story that needed to be laid to rest; otherwise, it may not have been heard.

Ariela played two BIGSOUND showcases this year with ;the Teskey Brothers, Suicide Swans, Mama Kin, Caiti Baker and Kylie Auldist. Warming the delegates and alike whilst honouring both released and unreleased material during her performances.
