“While Ashe’s talent for impressive, emotionally-laden songwriting is nothing new, the grand level that is on display here is simply captivating… the rising singer-songwriter does not just paint a picture of love and loss but pulls us into this magnificent cinematic world she is actively weaving into existence.” – OnesToWatch on “Moral of the Story”

“California singer-songwriter Ashe’s music makes you feel like you’re in the company of a close friend. It’s both striking and authentic, deeply familiar and immediately comforting.” – Teen Vogue

“(Ashe’s) debut EP The Rabbit Hole is a versatile and compelling seven-track affair, uniting her soaring, often-summer-stroked vocals with driving productions that give the EP a little bit of a backbone.” – PileRats on “The Rabbit Hole”

“Rising star” (Variety) Ashe has shared the new version of her breakthrough track, “Moral of the Story” featuring Niall Horan, with new lyrics contributed by Niall, out now on Mom + Pop Music.

The original version of “Moral of the Story” was co-written by Ashe, FINNEAS, Noah Conrad and Casey Smith, and appears on Ashe’s double EP, Moral of the Story Chapters 1 & 2, executive produced by FINNEAS.

Ashe and Niall’s fateful meeting happened through a mutual friend and colleague in the music industry. The two artists admired each other’s work and, upon being introduced, became fast friends. A re-imagining of “Moral of the Story” felt like an inevitable and effortless labor of love for both.

The collaboration brought an unexpected and refreshing male take on “Moral of the Story”, originally told from the autobiographical perspective of Ashe — a young woman going through the tribulations of a divorce. Working together over several FaceTime sessions, Ashe gave Niall the creative license to rewrite the second verse, for a more authentic male perspective.

The original version, which saw Ashe sing, “remember when we painted our house just like my grandparents did… so romantic but we fought the whole time,” now sees Niall intolling, “we burnt down our paper house… talking to your father he said you could be mine.”

The two will be chatting about the collaboration on Instagram Live Thursday, June 18 at noon ET/9am PT.

Ashe said,“Niall’s voice on ‘Moral of the Story’ feels so natural and organic. He’s absurdly talented. It feels like he was in the room the day we wrote it, as if he had been there all along and I just didn’t know it. This is the most personal song I’ve ever written/released and I needed to know Niall was going to treat it with the same vulnerability and care. He absolutely exceeded those expectations.”

Says Niall, “From the minute Ashe got in touch and I heard this song, I loved it so much.  From the chord choices to the natural storytelling melodies that she possesses, it was a no brainer that I was going to be a part of it. We sat on FaceTime for ages chatting, writing different parts and having a laugh. Ashe is a legendddddd. She’s insanely talented and I’m proud to say she’s now my friend.”

“Moral of the Story” was featured on the Netflix film, To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. The song soon flooded Shazam Top 200 Global and U.S. Charts, with 1.4 million Shazams to date. It also garnered over 250 million global streams, with Ashe amassing over 5 million monthly Spotify listeners.

“Moral of the Story” debuted on the Top 40 Chart this week, and is currently charting at three radio formats including Top 40, Hot AC and Alternative.  On TikTok, Ashe has 2.5 billion video views and 2.5 million videos created, even by the likes of Lizzo who posted her own Tik Tok. On YouTube Ashe has exceeded 200K subscribers, with the track’s visualizer getting over 29 million views.

Critics and fans alike have embraced Ashe’s undeniable appeal. Billboard called her music “emotionally raw,” while L’Officiel noted, “with her angelic voice and raw lyrics, Ashe is well on her way to musical greatness.” Insider raved, “Paired with her elastic, weightless pixie voice, Ashe’s meditation on divorce and healing strikes the perfect balance. It doesn’t simply float in and out of your ears… it takes root and blossoms, becoming rich and meaningful and adaptable in the way that so many hitmakers strive for.”

Niall Horan has played the world’s biggest stages and heard his lyrics screamed back at him. The Irish singer, songwriter, and pop star’s latest outing Heartbreak Weather, is an album that captures the full range of emotions felt as love unfolds and ultimately unravels, set to a fittingly powerful and dynamic soundtrack.

Out now on Capitol Records, Heartbreak Weather hit No. 1 in the U.K. and Ireland, debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Top Album Sales chart and has amassed over 500 million streams worldwide.  The album also came in at No. 1 on the NPR “All Songs Considered” list of the week’s top 10 new albums.

Rolling Stone said Horan, “stretches out on his ace second solo album…even with a bruised heart, he’s a charmer.” Alongside the man-about-town mania of “Nice to Meet Ya,” breezy but humid hookup anthem “No Judgement,” and “Put a Little Love on Me,” the set of songs ups the energy from 2017’s Flicker, tapping influences as wide-ranging as Bruce Springsteen, Arctic Monkeys, and The Weeknd.

Recorded in Los Angeles, London, and the Bahamas with an all-star team including Teddy Geiger, Julian Bunetta, Tobias Jesso Jr., Greg Kurstin, Mozella and more, Heartbreak Weather sweeps listeners up and onto a journey where the perspective, emotion, and music are always shifting.
