The Australian music world was shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of legendary guitarist Phil Emmanuel on Thursday afternoon.

Phil was very excited to perform as part of the all-star band for the upcoming Bon But Not Forgotten dates across Australia in July – performing the hits of ACDC and iconic singer Bon Scott – along with Simon Wright (ACDC), James Morley (The Angels), Rusty (Electric Mary), Brett Williams (Choirboys – NSW dates only), Toni Currenti (ACDC – NSW dates only) and Paul Wosen (The Screaming Jets – VIC dates only). 

The band said: “We are very saddened about the passing of Phil. He was a lovable rogue, with so much talent, that inspired so many. He was incredibly excited about performing ACDC’s “If You Want Blood” album in its entirety. It was his favourite live album by any band.” 

The dates will continue as planned in honour of Phil with part proceeds from the band’s Factory Theatre show in Sydney going to the family of Phil Emmanuel to help support them through this time.
