BOO Seeka are readying themselves for a myriad of late night adventures and have created the perfect soundtrack with new single ‘Moonlight Run’, and accompanying video out today.
An ode to the magic of the witching hour, Ben ‘BOO’ Gumbleton says the song – which premiered on triple j last night – is a celebration of those spontaneous nights when everything is as it should be.
‘Moonlight Run is meant to replicate the feeling of excitement when its 12am, you’re with your mates, and you can just feel its going to be a great night. You don’t know how or what, but you’ve just got this growing feeling.’ he says. “Those times where you know you’re about to make some AM memories that will be stored forever.”
With the melody arriving on a whim while hanging on a mate’s balcony, BOO rushed inside to lay down the bones of the track. “I left midway through a conversation to go inside, grab the guitar and my phone to record before coming out and explaining to everyone what had just happened and why I disappeared,” he says.
Coming together in the studio with longtime production collaborator Ian Pritchett, the final iteration of the track builds on swirling synths and BOO’s signature vocal to a dizzying climax meant for only one purpose: dancing.
BOO Seeka are self-confessed night owls which is probably why they love touring so much. Recently announcing a huge 14 date end of year run, the two soul-tronic sound makers road trip through their home state of New South Wales before jumping across to Indonesia for two massive shows beside the beach.
Having well surpassed 50 million streams across their catalogue, BOO Seeka have collected tens of thousands of fans since the release of their acclaimed debut album Never Too Soon and are hard at work on a 2020 follow up. The NSW to Indo Summer Series is one last chance to get the full BOO experience before year end and catch ‘Moonlight Run’ in the flesh providing the perfect warm up for summer evening escapades everywhere.
