Live Music Takes Over Brunswick Library, Brunswick Baths and Length of Sydney Road at Next Week’s Brunswick Music Festival

MORELAND’S BIGGEST PARTY OF THE YEAR!

.

The wait it almost over… the 2018 Brunswick Music Festival kicks off next week with Moreland’s biggest event of the year, the Sydney Road Street Party!

This annual tradition is followed by two weeks of talent-drenched, culturally diverse and Brunswick-centric live music programming, littered with professional development workshops and family friendly fun!

Live At The Library returns for another year, and the all-new High Tide Pool Party will take place at Brunswick Baths, featuring synchronised swimming, live electro-soul music and a DJ to curate the sound of your Sunday afternoon paddle.

Music For The People will cap things off at the end of the festival with a free afternoon of local music, food stalls and fun at Shore Reserve.

Sydney Road Street Party!

Get down to Melbourne’s biggest street party on Sunday March 4 for the annual celebration of the best of Brunswick – the music, the people and the traders. On six stages, between Union Street and Victoria Street, an epic two hundred artists will get you swinging to the sweet sounds of gospel, Latin, soul, gypsy jazz, blues, hip hop, reggae, folk and rock. There is bound to be something to suit any taste! The pavement will be packed with food stalls cooking up tasty treats, an abundance of market stalls selling wonderful wares and the Brunswick Bitter bars will be serving a selection of refreshments.

On the day, wander down to Blak Dot Gallery for their first ever Artists Market, showcasing Kulture including contemporary and customary art practitioners, designers and makers from local Indigenous nations and international Indigenous communities.

High Tide Pool Party!

Come down to the Brunswick Baths on Sunday March 11 and brush off a banana lounge for High Tide, the first ever Brunswick Music Festival pool party. The afternoon shindig of water-filled fun in the sun will feature two sets by electro-soul trio Silver Linings, whose swimming soundtrack is set to make waves and top-notch DJ Shio Otani spinning tunes poolside for your splish-splashing pleasure. Also catch special performances by synchronised swimmers The Eastern Sirens.

There will be good vibes all round!

It is a quality time guaranteed and all for the price of pool entry.

Live at the Library!

Each year, Brunswick Library transforms into a live music venue as part of Brunswick Music Festival. This year we celebrate the gifting of historic Brunswick Music Festival recordings and ephemera from Performing Arts Moreland.

There will be live performances from some of the early Brunswick Music Festival artists and an exhibition of vintage festival ephemera.

The Ephemera exhibition runs 4 – 18 March.

Music for the People!

Music For The People will close out the festival in style with Saskwatch, Mighty Duke and the Lords, Cool Out Sun, A.YA and Havana Palava playing for FREE in the lush surrounds of Shore Reserve in Pascoe Vale South. There will also be an array of wonderful food stalls serving up tasty treats all afternoon. Head on down between 4pm-8pm on Sunday March 18.
