In the midst of a North American tour performing as special guest for electro-pop superstar Robyn, followed by dates this March with rapper Vince Staples, Channel Tres has today unveiled new track ‘Brilliant N*gga’.

An ode to a new kind of black exceptionalism, with shades of deep house, West Coast rap, 60s Blue Note and dub mixing techniques, ‘Brilliant N*gga’ is available now via LA-based tastemakers Godmode, who also brought the world Yaeji and Shamir.
In less than a year, the Compton-born artist has found fans in everyone from Elton John to Anderson Paak to Disclosure, with Pitchfork, NPR, Gorilla vs. Bear, BBC Radio 1, Spotify, Apple, Beats1 and KCRW lining up as early champions. Channel’s debut single ‘Controller’ reimagined classic Detroit house with the surly attitude of West Coast rap, and introduced the world to his effortlessly deep baritone.

Since the release of his debut self-titled EP, Channel has earned a fierce reputation for his live show which delivers a mesmerising mix of music and movement. Later this year Channel will be performing at many of the world’s most elite festivals, including Primavera Sound (Barcelona), Distortion Festival (Copenhagen), and Field Day (London).
