Following the announcement of a Victorian tour this February, today, Children Collide reveals the bruising and breezy new single Trampoline, alongside a cinematic spectacular via Spinning Top Records. The song is taken from their highly anticipated forthcoming fourth studio album Time Itself.
A twirling, acid-tinged affair, frontman/guitarist Johnny Mackay describes Trampoline as, “an ode to magnetic, magical and emotionally unavailable unicorns who enter your life and bounce you into space once you form a connection.”
“Sonically, Loren’s production managed to do that thing we love with the song, straddling two eras but still making sense. A lot of this record we were thinking about Sabbath, The Stooges and Sonic Youth but on Trampoline it was late Beatles meeting early Smashing Pumpkins, ” he adds.
Shot in Bellambi, NSW, by director Cybele Malinowski, the visual reverie captures an aura of nostalgia in a avant-garde technicolour suburban dream.
Recorded by Loren Humphrey at Diamond Mine & Stockholm Syndrome in New York City, Time Itself, Children Collide’s long-awaited fourth studio album will land this year. The LP will feature the post-punk lead single Aurora, the propulsive Funeral For A Ghost, the aforementioned Trampoline and all of the unmistakable trademarks of Children Collide.
A live phenomenon, Children Collide have played sets at SXSW, The Great Escape, Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Groovin The Moo and the Big Day Out. They’ve performed countless sold-out headline shows across the nation in addition to dates in London, Paris, LA, New York and Tokyo. Following the release, Children Collide will perform a headline tour in Victoria this February with live bassist Chelsea Wheatley, who also performs as Chela.
Time Itself will follow the twice ARIA-nominated band’s third studio album Monument, released in 2012. It was another enduringly popular LP, following 2008‘s The Long Nowand 2010’s Theory Of Everything, which debuted at #5 on the ARIA album chart and claimed the triple j feature album. Their repertoire includes some of the most well-loved Australian singles of the past decade, a roll call that includes Social Currency, Skeleton Dance, Chosen Armies, Loveless and triple j hottest 100 entries Farewell Rocketship, Jellylegs and My Eagle.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
