The Stiffys are like no other band. Described as ‘like Death From Above 1979 on the beach’ and having ‘a stage presence larger than life’, the astronaut trio have become a cult sensation.

From hard punk to dance bangers, The Stiffys are a live powerhouse renowned for their excessive celebrations. The band has carved an inimitable presence in the Australian music scene through constant touring and festival appearances including Falls Festival, the Big Day Out, Festival of The Sun and NYE On The Hill as well as viral videos celebrating feminism, kickflips and boogie boarding. 

Their last EP, ART ROCK TWO, received rave reviews across Australian music media and attracted international attention with its first single – The Pokemon Go song.  

The Stiffys’ fifth studio record – “COOL” contains three bangers, written from their illegal storage/rehearsal space and was produced by the ARIA award winning Steven Schram (Radiohead, Major Lazer) at Soundpark Studios in Northcote and mastered by Steven Smart (Queens of the Stone Age, Parkway Drive).

The first single – SO MUCH FUN – was released as a home workout video to help people stay limber in lockdown.

The band’s latest single and video “CHOOSE TO FLY” was premiered by TheMusic and you can check the video out HERE. “CHOOSE TO FLY” was recorded in a Fitzroy warehouse filmed by 20 people with camera phones who were paid in cans of pre-mixed Southern Comfort.

WE ARE COOL GUYS SO WE WANTED TO CALL OUR NEW RECORD SOMETHING COOL AND WE THOUGHT WHAT IS THE COOLEST THING AND FIRST WE THOUGHT BEING IN A BAND WAS THE COOLEST THING SO WE WERE GOING TO CALL OUR RECORD ‘BEING IN A BAND’ BUT THEN WE WERE LIKE WHOAH HANG ON ‘COOL’ IS ACTUALLY THE COOLEST THING SO LET’S CALL OUR RECORD “COOL.”

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE’VE EVER USED PUNCTUATION AND THAT’S WHY THE RECORD TOOK SO LONG TO COME OUT BECAUSE WE SPENT OVER THREE YEARS TRYING TO GET THE FONT RIGHT AND YEAH THE RESULTS ARE DEFINITELY WORTH IT – The Stiffys

The Stiffys are: Jason Leigh (bass, vocals), Adam Stagg (drums, vocals) and Devin de Araujo (guitar, keys).

THIS RELEASE IS SUCH A POOR FINANCIAL DECISION BECAUSE WE CAN’T TOUR IT BUT WE DON’T REALLY CARE WE JUST WANT EVERYONE TO HAVE A GREAT TIME AND IF WE WERE WORRIED ABOUT MONEY WE WOULDN’T HAVE CALLED OUR BAND ‘THE STIFFYS’

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.

Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
