Annual festival DEAD OF WINTER returns to haunt punters once again on Saturday July 13th in Brisbane; adding new shocks, surprises and stages to a massive second (of three) lineup announce.
Celebrating ten years since DEAD OF WINTER began, every aspect of the much-loved and independent annual festival will be levelled up in 2019; bringing punters the largest bill ever assembled; 60 bands plus sideshows across 6 stages at the The Tivoli precinct and The Jubilee Hotel complex, including two truck stages.
The festival has added 16 more bands and 4 sideshows including Brisbane death metal heavyweights Disentomb; New Zealand’s sludge metal kings Beastwars; Adelaide metal legends Truth Corroded; Singapore’s Truth Be Known; Melbourne metalcore act Earth Caller and Brisbane alien rockers Tai Sui; plus local sideshow sweethearts The Heart and Dagger Sideshow, Brisbane burlesque performer Lila Luxx, pole dancer Dolly De Ville and horror drag queen Dhalia Dyer.
These act join an already stellar line-up including Cog, Mammal, 28 Days, Bodyjar, Aversions Crown, Voyager and Svetlanas (Russia).
After sold out festivals in 2017 and 2018, is all set to shock and inspire as The Tivoli and Jubilee Hotels are transformed into heavy music and horror fantasy-lands; with outer worldly visual effects, dark art displays and kinky sideshows. The zombie army will be out in force as per usual, road-blocking the valley; with punters encouraged to dress up in horror-fuelled outfits to win prizes on the day. The 2019 event sees Australia’s best SFX makeup artists facing off against each other, improved wheelchair accessibility and the installation of water stations and can recycling. A host of award winning 5-star food trucks will also be wheeled in to cater to the hungry hordes.
