Dear Seattle.

With more exciting news, Dear Seattle dropped fan favourite track  “Paranoid Letter” today, which was frequently played on their 14-date East Coast tour earlier this year, which saw the band return to the live circuit, packing out rooms in regional towns and cities alike.

When talking about the inspiration for the track, Brae Fisher, Dear Seattle, expressed “Written on a trip away back in 2020, Paranoid Letter is one of my favourites from the record as it feels deeply personal. The instrumentation is unlike anything DS has tried in the past, and the lyrics bounce around from first and second person in an almost disorienting fashion to try and give some insight into the headspace I was occupying at the time.

Deep in a haze of imposter syndrome and creative blockages, I found myself becoming increasingly paranoid that everything I had worked for would soon be pulled out from under me. Like people would suddenly decide my creative efforts weren’t relevant anymore. I had never applied so much negative pressure to myself before, and I was honestly just trying to find a way through it when the premise of this song came about.

It’s a letter I wrote to myself to help make sense of why I felt like it was all going to fall apart.“

Earlier this year, Dear Seattle treated fans via a special live performance filmed at Philter Brewing in Marrickville, Sydney. The band performed tracks “Feel The Weight, “Way Out”, and the latest single, “Paranoid Letter”, from the upcoming album, Someday. Watch the Full performance below.

Don’t forget to grab tickets for Dear Seattle’s National album tour Someday in late September; Sydney trio STUMPS, Horror My Friend and Sophisticated Dingo are supporting them on tour.

The Someday tour will be happening in September and October 2022, kicking off at Adelaide Lion Arts Factory, then to Perth’s The Rosemount, Queensland’s Brightside, and The iconic Corner Hotel in Melbourne, before heading home to Sydney’s Crowbar in Leichhardt.
