Not content with simply serving up a smorgasbord of the finest in national and international musical talent (see: Anderson.Paak & the Free Nationals, Interpol, Toto, Amy Shark, Vance Joy and so much more), the party planning experts behind Falls Festival have offered up some delicious dessert, teeing up a dizzying array of individual arts programs in Byron Bay, Marion Bay and Lorne.

Taking artists across all platforms and disciplines and displaying them in every nook and cranny of the much-loved Falls Festival sites, these programs will ensure that there really is something for everyone on offer.

From phallic illustrations to fantastic installations – no stone will be left unturned.

Up in Byron Bay, the Parklands will play host to La Henge at The Grove – an arts and culture extravaganza incorporating everything from home-grown live bands to art installations, night-time rock n’ roll yoga, comedy and anything else fit to be imagined.

A cavalcade of delights awaits, including cardboard battlefields created by Boxwars, a rip snorting punk showcase programmed by local DIY legends Howl & Moan Records, the inclusive dance stylings of Bring A Plate and daily comedy and workshops curated by the infamous troublemaker Mandy Nolan.

Tasmanian troubadours are in for a treat as The Village is activated in stunning Marion Bay. Showing off a program rich with local music, comedy, dance and drama, the offerings available are as eclectic and quixotic as the Apple Isle herself.

Ready to be discovered are local bands like 12-piece Afro dance sensations Baba Bruja, 19-year-old indie whiz kid Carl Renshaw, improvisational jazz fusion masters CM3 and countless others. You could even form your own band after taking a sneaky instrument making class with BedlamMusic.

There’s also activations and shows galore including the strange self-help techniques of Damsels De-Stress, the chaotic (and self-explanatory) 10 Minute Dance Parties and the live food performance antics of The World Kitchen.

The Village will also descend on the beautiful Otway forest in Lorne, as some of the finest eccentric entertainers in Australian strut their stuff.

Minds will be blown by the interactive multi-art ride Book of Walls, stages will be slayed as the Baby One More Time workshop allows attendees to channel their inner Britney, vocal chords will be destroyed as Klassy Karaoke rings in the New Year and jangled nerves will be soothed by the warm folk of GraceJean and the woozy synth- pop of Cool Explosions.

In the spirit of all this fun, Falls will also introduce a fancy-dress theme for the first day of every festival. The flavour is Meme Theme, so don’t be surprised if you run into a few Crying Kim’s, Super Bowl selfie kid’s or post-surgery grape’s as you roam the festival.
