George Alice is back and she is bringing with her the news of new single and video ‘Mid Years’, and the announcement of a tour for early 2022.
‘Mid Years’ was co-written with Alex Lahey, co-written and produced by Japanese Wallpaper (Allday, MAY-A, Mallrat, Rostam) and is the most sophisticated sound to date from Adelaide’s most exciting up and coming indie pop artist. The track was mixed by Geoff Swan (Laurel, Charli XCX, Miley Cyrus) and was mastered by Andre Eremin (Tones and I, Tash Sultana, Sampa The Great).

About ‘Mid Years’ George says: “I wrote Mid Years on one of my first zoom sessions with Gab Strum (Japanese Wallpaper) and Alex Lahey last year. I originally wanted to write a song about mid year exams in high school, hence the name, but as we started writing it felt more like a light-hearted breakup song. I wanted it to feel like an encouraging nudge to your next life chapter, a hug after that breakup, a reason to dance with a friend, to just keep going and see what happens next. I’m always an over thinker when it comes to changes in my life so this felt kinda like the answers I needed but couldn’t find. This song makes me feel so full of life, I hope it does the same for others in these times ”
The accompanying video is a shimmering fun night out with friends, perfectly illustrating the track which sonically and lyrically is full of life.

You will be able to catch George Alice live when she embarks on a tour taking in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and her hometown Adelaide in January.
With a triple j Unearthed High-winning debut ‘Circles’ in her stride, the last two years have been big for 18-year-old George Alice. Officially signing a global deal with US label Loma Vista Recordings (Denzel Curry, St. Vincent, Skegss, Soccer Mommy) George made a splash with follow-up singles ‘Stuck In A Bubble’ and ‘Teenager’, with all three singles now having amassed a total of 20 million global streams.
