As Adelaide’s finest post-hardcore ensemble, Glass Tides have dominated the scene throughout 2019 with heavy-hitting singles “Crawling”, “Waste” and “Sympathy” (which have received triple j play and huge praise on Unearthed). They have now geared up to reveal their debut album “In Between”, a release in keeping with their gripping signature sound, which has been compared to Turnover, Hundredth, Bring Me The Horizon, The Used and Young Lions.

“In Between” showcases the band’s versatility, featuring heavy power anthems as well as slower, more introspective rock, with a through line of distinctly raw, heartfelt lyrics and bell-clear vocals that make the band a stand-out in the genre.

Setting a dark and powerful tone for the album, “Crawling” brings a hard-hitting energy as it features melodic pop-like harmonies set to contrast from the angst and aggression in the choruses. “Somebody Else” and “Sympathy” showcase impressive lyricism against a soft melodic-rock vibe, where as the explosive track “Waste” grips the listener into the band’s hard-hitting passion and fire. The stripped track “Mirrors” delivers a change of pace for the album, as its minimal approach to instruments allows the ensemble to highlight their vocals and lyrics for a moment, against the electronic beats. Touching on a notion of self-reflection the album’s title track “In Between” delivers a balanced close to the record as it blends soft-rock elements with metal core, depicting their perfectly crafted post-hardcore sound.

Glass Tides are a five-piece emo-rock ensemble from Adelaide, South Australia and are wasting no time to establish themselves nationwide by supporting artists such as Thrice, Circa Survive, Spiderbait, Bodyjar, Young Lions and more. The group’s unique integration of both of post-hardcore and metal-core music accompanied by the passionate and raw vocals has ignited excitement around the world upon their establishment in late 2017. Along the way, the group has released two EPs, Thoughts (2017) and My Descend (2018).
