“The narrative in ‘Time’ can be interpreted in many different ways. One can perceive this song as somewhat joyous, a celebration of time itself, whereas others may only hear the sadness and underlying melancholy. I guess it depends on how you relate to it personally,” says Gretta. “We wanted to hone in on the long-term detail over the course of a relationship, highlighting the organic loss of love and affection over time.”

In support of the Here and Now EP, this August Gretta will perform headline shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane. The tour will be Gretta’s biggest headline effort to date, having previously sold out every Australian headline tour, performed at Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, and supported the likes of Vance Joy, James Bay, Paul Kelly and The Rubens.

Gretta is a creative individual with a skilful command of language, impressive vocal ability and an incredible work ethic. In 2016, Gretta shared her single ‘Drive’ which saw her win triple j’s Unearthed High, the prestigious Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition and place #27 in triple j’s hottest 100 – all while finishing her final year of high school.

Since graduating, Gretta has spent the past year focusing on music, writing and recording at home in Melbourne and overseas in Nashville and London. Gretta’s knack for lyrically complex songwriting, tongue-in-cheek facetious anecdotes and gravitation to songs on love and heartbreak is what makes her one of Australia’s most impressive young songwriters.
