Canvasback Music/Atlantic recording artists Grouplove have announced the release of their new single, “Broken Angel,” available HERE. “Broken Angel” and “Trip on Me,” also available today, were originally released last month as a 12” picture disc for Record Store Day 2020. The proceeds from “Broken Angel” will benefit The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Mac Miller Fund. Created to carry on Miller’s artistic and creative legacy, The Mac Miller Fund supports programming, resources and opportunities to youth from underserved communities, helping them recognize their full potential through exploration in the arts and community building. The track was written by Grouplove and produced by Jonathan Rado of Foxygen.

“Two years ago a dear friend of mine passed away,” says Grouplove frontwoman Hannah Hooper. “I sat down at the piano to put words to the inconsolable loss I was feeling and ‘Broken Angel’ came out. I feel like my friend wrote this song through me. And although I have a hard time listening to it, it helps me realize he’s still with me.”

“Broken Angel” follows the release of Grouplove’s acclaimed fourth studio album, Healer. Hailed by SPIN as “a masterpiece,” the album includes the singles, “Deleter,” “Youth,” and “Inside Out,” all of which are joined by official companion videos directed by award-winning cinematographer Chris Blauvelt (Meek’s Cutoff, Mid90s) and streaming now via the band’s official YouTube channel HERE.

“Deleter” proved a top 5 favorite at Alternative Radio outlets nationwide upon its initial premiere late last year. Grouplove celebrated the unapologetically relentless single’s success with an incredible, socially distant performance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

The first band in the U.S. to be certified climate positive by the United Nations, Grouplove have followed Healer with a number of exclusive releases including an official cover of Robyn’s classic anthem, “Dancing On My Own.” Earlier this year, the band posted an unreleased demo titled “Shout Shout Shout” to their Bandcamp to raise money for Campaign Zero – an organization fighting to end police brutality. Last month they released “Hardware Store” as part of the charity compilation album, “Good Music to Avert The Collapse of American Democracy,” raising $250,000 for Fair Fight to combat voter suppression.

Grouplove is: Hannah Hooper, Christian Zucconi, Andrew Wessen, Daniel Gleason, and Benjamin Homola.
