Sydney-based new-gen bedroom pop artist HARLEY ALASKA is celebrating 1,000,000 streams on his debut single ‘Lose You Too’ since its release 3 weeks ago.
Those closest to Harley Alaska – including his friends and family – did not know that he had been spending hours upon hours at home creating music before ‘Lose You Too’. Writing music in secrecy allowed him to find space for his deepest vulnerabilities – and with this level of intimacy came fear of any attention or limelight.
On ‘Lose You Too’, Harley Alaska shares about love and loss and what comes at the end of a relationship when you realise your identity has been wrapped up in someone else. “I really had to re-find the person who I was… or wanted to be. My identity was so wound up in somebody else that I was really lost for a while. When you’re young it’s especially tough… you don’t really have a solid idea of who you are in the first place.”
It was during the depths of isolation in the pandemic that Harley Alaska began sharing original music and covers online. Over time he amassed an organic following including 200,000 followers and 4 million likes on TikTok, finding a community with like-minded people all over the world with whom he felt finally able to share this side of himself.
“Showing people your music is fucking terrifying. Especially when you write as blatantly honest as I accidentally seem to keep doing. But I guess more terrifying to me was the idea of continuing to hide the one thing in my life that ever made me feel like I was worth something. I felt if I just flew under the radar, I couldn’t be shot down.”

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
