Following sold-out shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Thirroul and Newcastle, Holy Holy has dropped the official video for their new single True Lovers. The straight-up electro-pop tune is the latest single from their critically acclaimed album PAINT which debuted at #7 on the ARIA album chart in February 2017. Mid-way through the PAINT album tour, this new offering from Holy Holy follows their cover of Beyoncé’s Hold Up for triple j like a version which has been viewed over 460,000 in under a week.

Directed by Erin Van Occi, an Australian artist specialising in imagery, illustration and design; and featuring footage from cinematographer Thom Neal (Holy Holy Darwinism, Courtney Barnett), over 600 photographs were compiled and collaged for the True Lovers visual accompaniment. The fourth single from their second album PAINT, True Lovers joins the honoured company of the #1 most played track at triple j and International Songwriting Competition finalist, Darwinism, subsequent offering Elevator and the striking That Message.

The long distance union of award winning singer-songwriter Timothy Carroll (Launceston) and guitarist/composer Oscar Dawson (Melbourne), along with band mates Ryan Strathie, Matt Redlich and Graham Ritchie, saw Holy Holy release PAINT, a panoramic record with songs bursting with ideas. Included in Rolling Stone’s 40 Best Albums of 2017 So Far, it is a testament to a band who’ve leapfrogged the difficult second album syndrome and delivered the experimental fifth album already – all without losing any of their personality.

Since the release of their ARIA #11 debut album, When The Storms Would Come, the APRA PDA Award Winning, Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition finalists have toured through the UK and Europe three times including festival performances at Primavera, The Great Escape, Reeperbahn, Dot to Dot, Liverpool Music Week and London Calling.
