‘PILBARA MAN’
out August 4Magandjin/Meanjin/Brisbane artist Jungaji has announced the release of his new single ‘Pilbara Man’ slated for August 4 with a hometown Single Launch Show at The Triffid Beergarden on August 9. Jungaji tour dates around Australia includes shows in Adelaide (with No Fixed Address), Sydney (with Ursula Yovich & Midnight Oil’s Adam Ventoura), Wollongong, the Sunshine Sounds Festival, and showcases at the 2023 Bigsound Music Conference.
Jungaji (formerly Troy Brady) is a First Nations Gu Gu Yalanji songman, visual artist, playwright, and activist who has been renowned in the Australian music industry for three decades, first appearing on the scene as a teenager with Aim4More in the 90s.
He has embarked on a new creative path, fusing RnB and Soul to create a unique and authentic sound that showcases his cultural roots. After undergoing a deep cultural transformation, Jungaji has embraced a profound understanding of his identity and is now dedicated to sharing his authentic voice and artistic testimony with the world.
Jungaji’s creative talents are also showcased on the cover art taken from an incredible art piece being used for the ‘Pilbara Man’ single. Other artworks are available to purchase at his Art Shop – www.Jungaji.com/shop
Speaking about the Pilbara Man, Jungaji said “This song is an ode, a salute to a deadly man whom I’ve been associated with for over 20 years. His story is one of loss of love, sadness, and dislocation, but moreover of survival and celebration.
The Pilbara Man’s story is our story. His ability in the 90s to live a life of sobriety spoke volumes to my struggles, and I felt a responsibility to not only him but all brothers to speak out and share our ceremonies of struggle. We strive to be upstanding men within our households and communities. Lastly, we aim to reflect and understand that without the pain, we wouldn’t have been able to fulfil our true existence.”
In summary, this beautiful story, in all its 3 minutes and 49 seconds, takes you through an ethereal musical landscape of smooth soul rhythms and harmonies reminiscent of the Motown era. It also addresses sensitive issues that continue to affect and plague our brothers in communities today.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
