Set to perform headline shows this November & December,  in addition to festival sets at Listen Out and Spilt Milk, Kira Puru today announces her self-titled EP out Thursday 20 September via New Tribe Music. To celebrate the news, the reigning pop queen dropped into triple j this morning to record one of the most rousing Like A Version’s of the year.

Joined by her band to record latest single ‘Molotov’, Puru invited Gang of Youths guitarist Joji Malani and acclaimed producer Jon Hume to cover Katy Perry’s Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F).

Produced by the aforementioned Hume (Dean Lewis, Sofi Tukker, Matt Corby, E^ST), the sass-packed, candid and grooved-filled Kira Puru EP further highlights the rise of a uniquely human star.

The five track EP features the hard-hitting ‘Molotov’ which has surpassed half a million streams and the hypnotic ‘Tension’ which is nearing 1.6 million streams and demonstrates an exhilarating evolution for one of Australia’s most important voices.

Renowned for delivering dynamic and spirited live performances, in the past year Puru has performed two headline sold-out shows, sets at Curve Ball and Groovin The Moo; and was invited to perform as special guest for The Rubens and Vera Blue.
