Ahead of her debut headline tour dates kicking off this week, Australia’s princess of pop, Kota Banks today shares the video for her self love anthem “I’m It” from her recently released PRIZE mixtape. The clip joins the announce of the support acts joining Banks on tour; a NLV Records affair with Strict Face, Swick and Ninajirachi all performing in different cities.

Taken from her wildly successful PRIZE mixtape and filmed across an Australiana backdrop, Kota’s “I’m It” sets the new benchmark for unapologetically loving yourself. Directed by visual collaborator and friend, Tiff Williams, Kota embarks on an iconic Sydney side adventure, spreading a confidence boost and her self esteem message to love yourself – “and that’s not cocky”.

“Making the I’m It video was such a blast. It was actually a last minute collaboration between me and my friend / videographer Tiff Williams after a lot of my listeners demanded that there be a video for this song too. We literally just went around Sydney and ate Maccas at various locations… music video goals. I think the main thing we had in mind was that it was important to contrast the very confident lyrics with a more tongue in cheek, satirical visual. It’s super DIY and lo-fi and we’re super proud of it. Enjoy.”

Kota Banks will kick off her headline tour for PRIZE this week at BIGSOUND in Brisbane, before heading to Adelaide’s Rocket Bar with Strict Face this Friday, September 7. A week later she graces Melbourne’s Workers Club with PRIZE collaborator Swick on Friday 14, followed by a must-attend tour wrap in her hometown at Sydney’s iconic Oxford Art Factory on Saturday, September 15, with help from NLV Records latest signing, Ninajirachi.

Banks’ PRIZE mixtape has amassed over 1.2 million streams since it’s release in July and showcases Kota’s glistening vocals and infectious production from sonic curator Swick. Featuring a string of singles including the recent triple j addition in “Child” and “Fiorentina” feat. Capo Lee, the full-length release arrives hot off the thriving success of Banks’ triple j endorsed pop banger “Zoom” and her first infectious gem “Holiday”.

At just 23-years old, Kota Banks has toured nationally with Nina Las Vegas as part of the FOMO Festival trail, supported Southern LA rapper Duckwrth and Australia’s What So Not, alongside securing a publishing deal with Mushroom and signing with the esteemed New World Artists. Last week she was announced on Australian festival favourite, Falls Festival, helping ring in the new year with performances at Lorne, Marion Bay, Byron Bay and Fremantle. In the business of breaking boundaries and rethinking the Australian pop genre, Kota returns today with the self love video for “I’m It”.
