Melbourne’s own Kylie Auldist will be taking a breather from extensive touring with The Bamboos to bring the boogie to an intimate gig in downtown Coburg.

The newly opened Kastoria Music Club in Melbourne’s northern suburbs is polishing its dance floor in preparation to play host to Kylie’s northern soul on Friday 5 October, with the show to be split into two sets. The first half of the night will kick off with an acoustic-soul selection (a nod to Kylie’s earlier albums co-produced by Lance Ferguson and recorded with members of The Bamboos) before leading into a roof raising, up-tempo finale featuring tracks from her newest album Family Tree and beyond.

The Kastoria Music Club itself is run by musicians for musicians. Their ample yet humble bar stocks all the usual personality enhancers along with a short but sweet cocktail list. They have food platters of Mediterranean nibbles along with Middle Eastern and Persian sweet platters. And don’t forget to toss the Coat Rack Kids $1 to cloak your coats!

Kylie’s latest release ‘No Use’ – which has been remixed by French duo HUKO and released on Parlophone via Warner France – is doing the rounds on European radio, with playlisting, airplay and Shazam rankings increasing weekly.
