Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, author and actor Leslie Odom, Jr. has released a brand-new version of his song “Cold” featuring nine-time Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum artist Sia – listen HERE. The track is off the singer’s third full-length album and first of original material, Mr., which was released in November 2019 via S-Curve Records/BMG.
Threading together elements of soul, R&B, jazz, and pop, Mr. holds a singular style as powerful and passionate as it is personal. “Cold” is “a hopeful ballad with a beautiful melody,” NPR proclaims. The re-recorded, new version, in collaboration with longtime friend Sia, was created in the virtual studio through remote sessions, utilizing technology to bring the two together despite geographical distance during this time.
Of the song, Leslie says, “Sia has been a friend for a few years now after I met her backstage at ‘Hamilton’. As I look at making that foray into the pop world and pop music, she’s been a really great mentor and friend. I sent her the album and asked if there was anything she would want to collaborate on. She said, ‘I’ll sing on Cold’, which was her favorite song from the album, so we recorded a new version of it that I think you’re really going to like.”
Additionally, Leslie is set to star in Sia’s forthcoming motion picture and directorial debut, Music, alongside Kate Hudson and Maddie Ziegler. “Cold” featuring Sia is available everywhere now. Watch the accompanying lyric video HERE.

About Leslie Odom, Jr.
Leslie Odom, Jr. is a multifaceted Tony and Grammy Award-winning performer, best known for his breakout role as Aaron Burr in the Broadway phenomenon Hamilton. Odom’s self-titled debut album charted at #1 on the Billboard Jazz chart and in winter 2017, he topped the charts again with the re-release of Simply Christmas as a deluxe edition with new arrangements and new songs. His extensive acting career includes film and television roles including Murder on the Orient Express, Red Tails and Smash. In 2018, he added author to his resume with the release of his book, Failing Up: How to Rise Above, Do Better, and Never Stop Learning. In November 2019, he starred alongside Cynthia Erivo and Janelle Monae in Harriet, a biopic about the extraordinary life of Harriet Tubman and he will be in next year’s highly anticipated film The Many Saints of Newark. Odom released his third full-length album and first of original material, entitled Mr in November 2019 and will release his new holiday album, entitled The Christmas Album on November 6.
