They say there’s an innate bond between siblings. Now, take that intuitive understanding and translate it into music; magic can happen. Such is the case for brothers Louis and Oli Leimbach, better known as Lime Cordiale. Today, the Sydney band announce their newest single Temper Temper via Chugg Music/MGM and unveil the track’s creative music video, premiered via Pilerats

.

“The track itself is a corker, bringing the vibes that have garnered Lime Cordiale a big fan base over the past few years but also displaying a new level of maturity that bodes incredibly well for the album. The clip is almost disorientating in its stop motion style, mirroring the lyrics examination of relationships thriving on drama, but that being half the fun.” – Pilerats

.

Shot at Bondi’s Beach Road Hotel, the video is another example of the magic, with Oli taking directing duties, and Louis creating the lino cuts which are featured throughout the video. Oli comments, “I chose to shoot this music video at 25% because I love the effect you get from it. When you take it up to normal speed, it almost has a stop motion effect with heaps of energy. We had to learn how to sing (and even dance!) to the song at 25%… which is much slower than it sounds. And you feel like an absolute idiot! “

The clip also features their good friend and in demand Sydney actress Taylor Ferguson.

Temper Temper is the lead track from their forthcoming debut album, to be released later in the year. The bright crisp tune; anchored by rich saxophones, horns and thumping drums is accompanied by lyrics that are “about the kind of relationship that thrive on drama, one that’s a bit rough around the edges, but that’s why you like it,” Oli explains.

Most recently, the formerly Northern Beaches based Lime Cordiale have been busy writing and recording with producer Dave Hammer (Washington, Thundamentals, Nicole Millar). They have whittled down fifty tracks to a select eleven, the rest of which will be revealed later this year as their first album.

Lime Cordiale have previously released two EPs, FACELESS CAT and FALLING UP THE STAIRS, since forming all those years ago, and now they have given us a unique and catchy track in Temper Temper. It’s one of the first of many stories to be told in their upcoming album.

.

“We want people to be able to shove it on in the living room, or while cooking dinner, or when you’re drinking with your mates. We spent a lot of time recreating these songs and exploring their sound. We wanted a collection of songs that really have a personality and vibe.” – Oli Leimbach

.

Lime Cordiale will tour the new album extensively later this year. In the meantime, the band have supported Bootleg Rascal at their show at the Lansdowne, and have opened their Brightside show in Brisbane.
