Hot off the heels of a high-energy Coachella 2018 performance, Platinum-certified Philadelphia duo MARIAN HILL have announced their debut headline tour of Australia performing at Sydney’s Manning Bar on August 22 and the Corner Hotel, Melbourne on August 23.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at 11am, Friday May 25.

The multi-talented duo, who have been collaborating in one form or another since high school, have shifted the classic paradigm of a woman on a stage and a man with a piano to a woman on a mic and a man with a laptop – and the results are seductive and vivid. Made up of Jeremy Lloyd (music/lyrics/production) and Samantha Gongol (music/lyrics/vocals), Marian Hill is a tempting paradox with a blend of blues and bass, acoustic and digital, classic and modern.

Samantha Gongol says, “People often think Marian Hill is the name of a woman, but we are two songwriters who made a name for ourselves by making minimal, strong, sexy, confident music.”

Since releasing their debut full-length album “Act One” in 2016 with tracks like ‘Down’, which featured on Apple’s 2017 AirPods commercial and climbed its way toward the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, the album took listeners on a journey through the complexities of modern relationships, with each song inhabiting a specific and charged relationship lyrically, melodically, and sonically. Following up with the release of their sophomore album “Unusual” earlier this month, Marian Hill embarked on a full-scale North American headline tour, including a massive Coachella performance.

Sydney’s breakout artist and songwriter CXLOE will join Marian Hill in both Sydney and Melbourne. Fresh from touring with George Maple, Alison Wonderland and Steve Aoike, CXLOE’s been carving out her niche wandering the line between alternative and electronic music – her second single ‘Monster’ has been played on triple j, 2DayFM and BBC Radio 1 with Zane Lowe and is clocking up millions of streams across Australia and North America.

Now it’s Australia’s turn to experience Marian Hill as they bring their groundbreaking, one of a kind sound to Sydney and Melbourne this August.
